5 Things I’ve Missed Most About Britain

Settled right back into life in the UK now…helped by the lovely weather and a dip in my stepdad’s pool this afternoon.

I have had the good fortune to enjoy some of the things I’ve SO missed about the UK:

  1. Thai Sweet Chilli crisps – omigod, I LOVE these and can devour a whole massive bag in one sitting, if given half the chance.
  2. Our Nespresso machine – again omigod, I LOVE my custom-made mocchas using Green & Black’s organic hot chocolate, 2 teaspoons of an espresso coffee and warm, frothy milk.
  3. Listening to Brits moaning – I honestly don’t know why this is but the Brits are some of the moaniest people in the world. It’s only a ‘favourite’ because it reminds me how lucky I am to be doing what we do and to be able to choose to live in a place where people are actually happy rather than unhappy and are grateful for what they’ve got.
  4. Watching British TV – not soaps or Brit-made shows but BBC sports and some of their dramas. It’s also refreshing to be able to watch some ad-free channels once in a while, although I’ve now watched more telly in the past 3 days than I watched in 2 months in Grenada.
  5. British supermarkets – I know we don’t quite have Whole Foods here yet (apart from the new one in Kensington High St) but at least there are a choice of pretty decent supermarkets to go to (Tesco, Sainsbury’s and my favourite, Waitrose) rather than just the one or two in Grenada. The choice is endless, it’s superb ;-)
