Yes that is me…reading the very first paperback copy of my very own book, X Marks The Spot.
It is SO cute and yet totally bizarre to see the thing I’ve been slaving over for the past few months actually sitting in my hands…a real, live thing.
Very proud!
Not only was it hard work creating it, it was blimmin’ hard work going to get it too. We had to cycle to the airport in practically the midday heat here, up and down lush, green hills (not so lush when your heart is almost giving out because of them, I tell you) and then cycle all the way back.
We even had to break our boycott of our one-time favourite coconut seller on the way back to get some hydration and energy before I passed out from heat exhaustion.
Ok, I’m exaggerating slightly but it was HOT (and yes, that’s my excuse for looking like a sweaty mess in the photo, although J thinks I’m just ‘flushed with excitement’ from the book).
