You Deserve An Explanation.

This blog along with the Location Independent blog, my Twittering and pretty much all my other online activities have been limping along for the past couple of months now.

If you know me and my usual self, letting a week go by without a post, tweet or something is most unusual. There is a reason however, and I think it’s a pretty good one…

In case you’re still unsure…I’m pregnant! This is a picture from our 12 week scan which we had here in Dubai a couple of days ago. All is looking good – and despite a South African doctor telling us there may be a complication (he thought I might have a bicornuate uterus – google it) and causing us undue worry & stress for the past few weeks, I don’t (it’s a fibroid) and all should be normal. Fingers crossed.

The reason I’ve been so off my online game is the morning sickness – almost constant nausea (for at least 70% of the day) and tiredness/exhaustion like I have never felt before. It’s horrible and all I can say is that it better be over soon (it should be, apparently).

So, I hope you’ll forgive the absence of my online activities. It has killed me not being able to share this on the blogs/Facebook/Twitter but I hope to be back to my finest (or almost) in the near future.

P.S. You are right, if you thought you’d read somewhere quite recently (on the LI blog) that we’d decided (and declared to the world) we probably weren’t going to have our own kids and we were keen to adopt. Must be that the universe has other plans :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I’m so happy for you both!!! While I miss your regular postings, take all the time you need.

Not sure if you can get it outside the states, but try Emetrol if you can find it for the morning sickness. It cures any kind of nausea.

Lea,

Congratulations are in order! I see that you were cautious enough to wait until the end of the first trimester to tell the world – a wise move, in my opinion.

Thank you so much for all your previous help and support – I’ve been quiet lately, too, but I’m about to emerge from the Slough of Despond just in time for 2009.

Cheers! Here’s hoping that you feel better soon.

Congratulations Lea! I wish you all the luck in the world, and by the way, even if you have a baby that doesn’t mean you can’t still adopt. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt did it, so can you! :)

Hey Lea

Congrats! The fun has just begun! All the very best for the up and coming months, in SA I think you can have the 3D’s there? It’s like having a photo before you get to see your babe – amazing.

Dearest Lea & Jonathan,
Well heartiest congratulations on your big Chrissie pressie!!
How exciting!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful tips on the LIP site (I’m trying to figure out what to do with our health care right now so that was timely advice) and may I add one more tip for the New Year – Never Say Never – lol. Michael and I are still packing up for our full time launch into the LIP lifestyle come January 29 so if you are still in Italy next summer we’d love to see all three of you.
Wishing you a very Merry, Restful and Safe Holiday Season and A New Year of Wonder, Love and Prosperity.

Looking forward to hearing all your adventures in 2009.

Best wishes and hope you are feeling great soon,
Carmel

Yes, the universe definitely had exciting plans for you. I’m still so thrilled about this news. I know the morning sickness is a bummer, but it’s such wonderful news.

Oh Lea, CONGRATULATIONS! In my personal opinion, conceiving and carrying a child is truly a miracle to be celebrated. Tears flooded my eyes as I read your post in email and hopped over to see your baby’s first picture. I am so happy for you and know that you and Jonathan will be wonderful parents. Prayers and good wishes!
